Clavister specializes in Network Security. Every day Clavister solutions are relied on in some of the most demanding network environments in the world. Clavister develops and manufactures Clavister SSP™, Security Service Platform, which is an IP-based security platform developed for telecom operators and large enterprises with extremely high demands on security, performance and scalability. Its characteristics are minimal maintenance, central administration and flexible configuration.
Thesis description
Introduction
Clavister is a provider of high performance security solutions for a wide range of customers. Enterprises often seek for a combined solution with many features integrated in the same unit. To strengthen Clavister's position in the market segment of security appliances with built-in wireless support, Clavister has identified the need to perform an evaluation of the currently available wireless network chipsets that are suitable for use in upcoming Clavister appliances. Key factors such as performance, signal range, ease-of-use, availability and price will have to be considered during the evaluation.
Thesis Objectives
The main target for this thesis is to perform an evaluation of wireless network chipsets suitable for use in upcoming Clavister appliances. The thesis also includes implementation of driver software in the Clavister CorePlus firmware to support the selected chipsets.
Competence
Students undertaking this thesis would be in a master program in computer science or software engineering.
