Clavister continues its expansion plans with a significant appointment in Asia [2009-11-30]IP-based security and unified threat management (UTM) specialist, Clavister has appointed Richard Huang as regional sales director for Asia. Richard will be responsible for expanding the business in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
Huang brings more than 20 years experience to the role and has worked for some big names in the networking and network security industry including Fortinet, Brocade (formerly Foundry Networks) and Cisco Systems. Huang joins Clavister from secure web gateway provider, Anchiva where he was sales director for Taiwan and Hong Kong.
This is Clavister’s fourth senior appointment in the last two months and Huang joins Andre Stewart who joined as VP Sales Worldwide and COO, Steve Turner as VP Product Marketing and Strategy, and Casper Seifert as CFO.
Peter Johansson, Clavister’s CEO said: “Huang’s appointment is an important step in our global growth strategy. Asia is an important market to us and Huang brings a wealth of experience to his role which will help contribute to our success in this territory.”
He continues: “In addition to our plans to expand in Asia, plans are also underway to make more significant appointments in EMEA and other emerging markets.”

Its customer base includes Terremark, bwin, Hamburg Stock Exchange, France Telecom/Orange, Unibase, Danieli, Rogers Wireless, DGC, Africa Online, and China Power.
