The Nordic firewall specialist Clavister recently launched a new version of their VPN client software for Microsoft Windows. Using Clavister VPN Client, mobile and home users can create secured VPN tunnels and thereby receive an efficient protection for remote working, remote administration, file transfers, e-mail and encrypted WLAN traffic.

Being the largest release since the product introduction, version 1.3 includes a number of improvements making secured remote access even more convenient.

Clavister has, among other things, introduced support for smart cards and other hardware "tokens", which make the product compatible with for instance fingerprint readers and other biometric products available on the market.

Another important feature is the support for so called virtual IP protocols that enable yet more seamless integration with the remote network by creating an illusion of the client being physically located in the network.
