EnterNet Firewall 6.0 is shipping as of Monday, January 29th 2001. The new version adds, among other things, support for true Quality of Service (QoS) needed for broadband networks with full fledged security functions and bandwidth control.

Swedish EnterNet Technologies has developed software based security solutions that run on ordinary PC hardware. EnterNet Firewall 6.0 is particularily well suited for security installations such as city and metropolitan area networks in that it has the support for true QoS needed to effeciently control bandwidth allocation and consumption within the network. With QoS, operators can gurantee bandwith for specific services and ports, and with the normal firewall filters they can establish a high level of individual security for the users in the network.
EnterNet Firewall 6.0 offers central administration of distributed firewalls, and the product is 100 percent compatible with the established standards for backbone networks (ATM, DTM, Gigabit Ethernet etc). A VPN (Virtual Private Networking) add-on with IPSec and a high availability option for firewall redundancy are available as options.
