Japan next for Clavister [2007-01-11]Clavister, a Swedish developer of advanced IT security solutions, have chosen the Tokyo based
company LANOS OF JAPAN LTD as their distributor for the Japanese market. The
agreement strengthens Clavister's presence on the Japanese market and is an important step in
the company's overall investment in Asia.
For 22 years Lanos of Japan Ltd has been a comprehensive supplier of services in system
administration, consulting and system development and service and operation of IT and business
processes. For additional information, see www.lanos.co.jp.
"This agreement means that we move our positions forward on the Asian market at the same time as
we improve the service to our existing customers in Japan", said Clavister's President and CEO Peter
Johansson. "Lanos is a well-known IT consultant with a strong reputation that gives us a good
platform to provide local support and reach out with our solutions to the Japanese market."
Lanos will primarily market the Clavister Security Services Platform (SSP), a family of integrated
security platforms that solve large parts of companies' IT security problems. SSP is an extended UTM
platform with integrated functions such as firewalls, VPN, intrusion protection, anti-virus, surf-filters,
traffic shaping, authentication, etc. It requires minimal maintenance, has central administration and
exceptionally flexible configuration possibilities.
The family consists of four models that cover the entire range from protection of small local offices to
powerful clustered systems in the multi-gigabit class for network operators. The different services
can be activated individually with software keys and the platform thereafter takes care of product
updates automatically.
Clavister AB is a Swedish privately owned company that develops IT security products. The main
product, the Clavister Security Services Platform, is an integrated security platform that monitors
traffic to and from networks and protects against intrusion, viruses, worms, trojans and overload
attacks. Not only does it protect critical business assets, it also blocks undesirable surfing, requires
minimal servicing, has central administration and exceptionally flexible configuration possibilities
and thanks to its scalability fits everything from small companies to big telecom operators.
There are also special versions for ISPs, telecom operators and companies that develop managed
security services.
Clavister was founded in 1997. The head office and development department are in Örnsköldsvik
while sales and marketing is in Stockholm. The company's products reach the market via sales offices,
