What makes the Clavister Antivirus feature different??
The Clavister Antivirus Signature, provided by Kaspersky Labs, is designed to detect the most dangerous viruses, Trojans, worms and other malware at wire speed.
With the Clavister antivirus solution there is only a minimal latency and basically no limitations in number of files being scanned or the size of the files being scanned. This "stream-based" approach is very different from the solutions where the entire file first needs to be downloaded before it is being scanned. Those non-stream-based solutions are often very limited in those aspects which translates into the fact that the scanning many times are not performed on the majority of the files or even worse, the entire antivirus feature gets turned off due to user complaints.
The Clavister signature database can also be hardware accelerated by using the Clavister xPerformance Cards. The stream-based approach allows high performance antivirus scanning where traditional antivirus software is not available due to limitations in the architecture, processing power or memory.
The signature database includes records for malicious code that is known to currently propagate over networks or that is active in the wild. The list of malicious programs is continuously updated based on data gathered by Kaspersky Lab network sensors and the Kaspersky Virus Lab.
